lap sitting
Seated on thighs
Lap sitting is the act of sitting on another person's lap, with one person's buttocks resting on the seated person's thighs.
Common between parents and young children, it also occurs in crowded situations where seats are scarce: There weren't enough chairs, so she ended up lap sitting.
In adult contexts, lap sitting can be intimate or sexual, as in lap dances at strip clubs.
