language police
Grammar correction zealots
Language police refers to people who aggressively correct others' word choices, grammar, or usage—often uninvited.
The term is usually disparaging, suggesting the correction is pedantic or politically motivated: The language police will come for you if you say "stewardess" instead of "flight attendant".
It implies enforcement of linguistic norms that the speaker considers excessive or arbitrary.
