land line
Stationary home telephone
A land line is a telephone connection using physical wires running to a fixed location, as opposed to a cellular or wireless phone.
The term emerged as mobile phones became common and people needed to distinguish between the two: Let me give you my land line.
Also spelled as one word: landline.
