Kiwi fruit is the fuzzy, egg-sized fruit of a climbing vine, with brown skin and bright green flesh dotted with tiny black seeds.
The flavor is tangy-sweet, somewhere between strawberry and melon.
Native to China but cultivated extensively in New Zealand—hence the name, after the flightless bird.
