invected

Curved teeth inward

Invected is a heraldic term describing a line or edge decorated with small curved scallops pointing inward, toward the field.

It's the opposite of engrailed, where the points face outward.

The term appears almost exclusively in descriptions of coats of arms and heraldic designs: a chief invected, an invected bordure.
