internode
Between two joints
An internode is the segment of a plant stem between two nodes—the points where leaves or branches attach.
The word appears primarily in botany: The internodes on this bamboo are unusually long.
In anatomy, it refers to the part of a nerve fiber between nodes of Ranvier.
