insider dealings
Secret stock moves
Insider dealings refers to trading stocks or securities based on confidential information not available to the public—typically by company executives, board members, or others with privileged access.
The practice is illegal in most jurisdictions because it gives unfair advantage over ordinary investors: He was convicted of insider dealings after selling shares before the earnings announcement.
