insecticidal soap
Pest-dissolving spray solution
Insecticidal soap is a pesticide made from potassium salts of fatty acids, used to kill soft-bodied insects like aphids, mites, and whiteflies.
It works on contact by disrupting cell membranes and must be sprayed directly on pests.
Unlike synthetic pesticides, it breaks down quickly and is considered safe for organic gardening: I treat my tomatoes with insecticidal soap every few weeks.
