in-flight meal
Cruising altitude cuisine
A meal served to passengers during an airline flight, typically included with the ticket price on longer routes or available for purchase on budget carriers.
The term evokes both the convenience of being fed at altitude and the often-mocked quality of airline food: The in-flight meal was a rubbery chicken breast with wilted vegetables.
Also called airplane food or airline food.
