hyperintelligent

Beyond normal cognition

Hyperintelligent describes intelligence far beyond normal human capacity.

The term appears most often in science fiction, applied to advanced aliens, superintelligent AI, or beings whose cognitive abilities transcend human comprehension: The hyperintelligent species had solved problems humanity couldn't even formulate.

Sometimes used hyperbolically for exceptionally smart people or animals: hyperintelligent dolphins, a hyperintelligent child prodigy.
