hump it

Schlep it yourself

Hump it means to carry something heavy with effort, especially over rough terrain or a long distance: We had to hump it five miles back to base with full packs.

The phrase originated in military slang, where humping gear meant hauling equipment on foot.

It can also mean simply to hurry or move quickly: We'd better hump it if we want to make the last train.
