A honeymoon period is the early phase of a relationship, job, or undertaking when everything seems ideal and problems haven't yet surfaced.
The term extends from the first weeks of marriage to any situation where initial enthusiasm masks difficulties to come: The new CEO's honeymoon period ended when quarterly losses were announced.
