heating efficiency
Thermal output ratio
Heating efficiency measures how effectively a heating system converts fuel or energy into usable heat.
It's typically expressed as a percentage: a furnace with 90% efficiency converts 90% of its fuel into heat while losing 10% through exhaust or other waste.
We upgraded to a high-efficiency boiler to lower our gas bills.
The term applies to furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and other heating equipment, and factors into both operating costs and environmental impact.
