Violent staged combat
Hardcore wrestling is a style of professional wrestling that emphasizes violent, no-holds-barred matches featuring weapons, blood, and dangerous stunts.
Matches typically involve folding chairs, tables, barbed wire, thumbtacks, and other objects used to inflict visible damage.
The style prioritizes spectacle and brutality over technical skill: ECW was famous for its hardcore wrestling matches.
Promotions like Extreme Championship Wrestling popularized the genre in the 1990s.
