handicap spots
Reserved disabled spaces
Handicap spots are designated parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities, located close to building entrances and marked with the wheelchair symbol.
Using one requires displaying an official permit or license plate.
The term reflects older usage; *accessible parking* or *disabled parking* are now preferred: Someone without a placard took the last handicap spot.
