gun safety
Weapon handling protocols
Gun safety refers to practices and principles designed to prevent accidental discharge, injury, or death when handling firearms.
The core rules include treating every gun as if it's loaded, never pointing a weapon at anything you don't intend to destroy, keeping your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and being certain of your target and what lies beyond it.
Gun safety also encompasses proper storage, such as keeping firearms locked and unloaded when not in use.
The instructor drilled gun safety into every student before anyone touched a weapon.
