groomsmaids
Wedding party women
Groomsmaids are women who serve as attendants to the groom at a wedding, standing on his side of the ceremony rather than the bride's.
The role mirrors that of groomsmen but acknowledges that close friends cross gender lines: His sister and college roommate served as groomsmaids.
Also called groomswomen.
