grade B
Not quite excellent
Grade B describes something of secondary or middling quality, below the top tier but still acceptable.
The term comes from grading systems where A represents excellence and B falls just short: grade B maple syrup, a grade B horror flick.
Often implies something serviceable but unremarkable, or charmingly second-rate: It's grade B entertainment, but I enjoyed it.
