goal line technology
Ball-crossing detection system
Goal line technology is a system used in soccer to determine whether the ball has fully crossed the goal line, settling disputed goals with precision.
Sensors or cameras track the ball's position and instantly signal the referee's watch when a goal occurs.
The technology was introduced after high-profile officiating errors and is now standard in major competitions: The referee confirmed the goal using goal line technology.
