go slow

Proceed with caution

Go slow is a deliberate reduction of work pace by employees as a form of protest or pressure, stopping short of a full strike.

Workers perform their duties but at minimum speed, reducing output while technically remaining on the job: The union called a go slow until management agreed to negotiate.

Chiefly British; Americans typically say slowdown.
