garter toss
Groomsman catching ritual
The garter toss is a wedding reception tradition where the groom removes a garter from the bride's leg—often theatrically, sometimes with his teeth—and throws it to unmarried male guests.
Like the bouquet toss for women, catching the garter supposedly predicts who will marry next.
The ritual ranges from playful to raunchy depending on the crowd.
