A fur cape is a sleeveless outer garment made from animal fur, draped over the shoulders and fastening at the neck.
Shorter than a coat and without arm openings, it provides warmth and has historically signaled wealth or glamour: She swept into the opera house in a floor-length fur cape.
Modern versions may use faux fur.
