frostbite care
Warming frozen tissue
Frostbite care is the treatment of tissue damage caused by freezing temperatures.
Immediate steps include moving to warmth, removing wet clothing, and gradually rewarming affected areas in lukewarm water—never rubbing or using direct heat, which can worsen damage.
Severe cases require medical attention to prevent tissue loss: The climbers received frostbite care at the base camp clinic.
