flash cuts
Quick scene transitions
Flash cuts are rapid, abrupt transitions between shots in film or video editing, often lasting only a fraction of a second.
The technique creates intensity, disorientation, or urgency—commonly used in action sequences, horror films, or to convey fragmented memory: The nightmare sequence used flash cuts of disturbing imagery.
Flash cuts can also build tension by revealing information in jarring bursts.
