final outcome
How things ended
The result that ultimately occurs after a process reaches its conclusion.
The phrase is technically redundant—an outcome is already final by definition—but speakers use it for emphasis when stakes are high or when earlier results proved misleading: The final outcome of the election won't be known until all votes are counted.
Whatever the final outcome, we gave it our best effort.
