fiction collection
Gathered invented tales
A fiction collection is a book gathering multiple works of fiction—usually short stories—by one or more authors.
Distinguished from a novel, which is a single continuous narrative, a collection brings together separate pieces: Her debut fiction collection won the National Book Award.
When featuring various authors, it may be called an anthology.
