fibrillated
Quivering without coordination
Fibrillated describes something that has broken into fibers or developed a fibrous texture.
In medicine, a fibrillated heart muscle contracts in rapid, uncoordinated twitches rather than smooth beats—the condition called fibrillation.
Materials can also be fibrillated, split into fine threadlike strands: fibrillated polypropylene tape, fibrillated cellulose fibers.
