endomorphic
Round body type
Endomorphic describes a body type characterized by a soft, round physique with a tendency to store fat, especially around the midsection.
The term comes from a mid-20th-century classification system that linked body shapes to temperament—endomorphs were supposedly relaxed and sociable.
The psychological claims have been discredited, but the physical descriptors persist in fitness contexts: He has an endomorphic build and gains weight easily.
