eighty-sixed
Refused further service
Eighty-sixed means rejected, thrown out, or gotten rid of.
A bar eighty-sixes an unruly patron by refusing further service or ejecting them entirely.
The term extends to anything discarded or cancelled: We eighty-sixed the whole project.
Restaurant slang originally—when the kitchen ran out of an item, it was eighty-sixed from the menu.
