Gentle laundry setting
Eco wash is a setting on washing machines or dishwashers that uses less water, lower temperatures, or longer cycles to reduce energy consumption.
The trade-off is usually time—eco cycles run longer to compensate for gentler conditions: The eco wash takes three hours but cuts my electricity bill.
Also used for environmentally friendly car washes that minimize water use and chemical runoff.
