drawn thread
Pulled fabric strand
Drawn thread is a needlework technique in which threads are pulled from fabric to create open areas, then the remaining threads are gathered or stitched into decorative patterns.
The method produces delicate, lace-like effects on table linens, handkerchiefs, and clothing: The napkins featured drawn thread borders.
Also called drawn threadwork.
