down the hatch
Bottoms up, friend
Down the hatch is a drinking toast, said just before swallowing alcohol: He raised his glass and said "Down the hatch!".
The phrase comes from nautical terminology—cargo goes down the hatch into a ship's hold, as drinks go down the throat.
It can also accompany swallowing medicine or unpleasant food: It tastes awful, but down the hatch.
