disenfranchised groups
Those without representation
Disenfranchised groups are populations systematically excluded from full participation in society—whether through denial of voting rights, economic opportunity, or social standing.
The term originally referred to those stripped of the franchise (the right to vote), but now encompasses any marginalized community lacking access to power or resources: policies that fail disenfranchised groups, giving voice to disenfranchised groups.
