A dipped cone is a soft-serve ice cream cone that has been briefly submerged in a coating—typically chocolate—that hardens into a thin shell on contact with the cold ice cream.
The coating cracks satisfyingly when bitten: I always get a dipped cone at the Dairy Queen.
