desexed
Made reproductively inactive
Desexed describes an animal that has been surgically altered to remove its reproductive capability—the same procedure called spaying for females and neutering for males.
The term is more common in Australian and British English than American English, where fixed or neutered predominate.
The shelter requires all adopted pets to be desexed before going home.
Desexed can also describe something from which sexual content or characteristics have been removed.
