dermal piercing

Surface body anchor

A dermal piercing is a body modification where a small anchor is inserted beneath the skin, leaving only a decorative top visible on the surface.

Unlike traditional piercings that pass through a fold of tissue, dermal piercings can be placed almost anywhere on the body—collarbone, cheek, back of the hand.

Also called microdermal or single-point piercing.
