cloudcuckooland
Unrealistic idealistic place
Cloudcuckooland is an imaginary realm of fantasy and unrealistic expectations—a place where impractical dreamers supposedly reside.
Someone living in cloudcuckooland is out of touch with reality, entertaining notions that won't survive contact with the real world.
The term comes from Aristophanes' comedy *The Birds*, where characters build a utopian city in the sky.
Often hyphenated: cloud-cuckoo-land.
