clinch knot
Angler's line attachment
A clinch knot is a fishing knot used to tie line to a hook, lure, or swivel.
The line passes through the eye, wraps around itself several times, then threads back through the loop near the eye.
The improved clinch knot adds a final pass through the large loop before tightening, making it more secure.
He tied on a new fly with a clinch knot.
