class resentment
Wealth-based social animosity
Class resentment is hostility or bitterness directed at people of a different social or economic class—typically aimed upward at the wealthy by those with less, though it can flow in any direction.
The feeling may stem from perceived unfairness, condescension, or blocked opportunity: His class resentment showed whenever he talked about his boss's vacation homes.
Distinguished from class consciousness, which is awareness without necessarily implying animosity.
