cheek pads
Helmet interior cushioning
Cheek pads are the cushioned inserts inside a helmet that press against the wearer's face, providing a snug fit and stability.
Most common in motorcycle and racing helmets, they're typically removable for washing or replacement: The cheek pads on my new helmet feel tight, but they'll break in.
In another sense, cheek pads are the fleshy or muscular areas on the sides of an animal's face, prominent in certain breeds like bulldogs or in primates.
