cave of wonders

Magical hidden vault

A cave of wonders is a place filled with treasures or marvels, often with an element of danger or forbidden access.

The phrase comes from the 1992 Disney film *Aladdin*, where a magical cave contains riches but only admits the "diamond in the rough." It now describes any repository of amazing things: The antique shop was a cave of wonders, Her grandmother's attic was a cave of wonders for the kids.
