caper berry
Mediterranean garnish ingredient
The caper berry is the fruit of the caper bush, larger than the pickled flower buds sold as capers.
About the size of an olive, caper berries are pickled whole with their stems attached and eaten as a garnish or appetizer: The martini came with a caper berry instead of an olive.
They have a milder, less pungent flavor than capers.
