bugger me

Vulgar surprised exclamation

Bugger me is a British exclamation expressing surprise, disbelief, or exasperation.

It functions much like "well I'll be damned" in American English, used when something unexpected happens: Bugger me, I can't believe they actually won.

Though it contains the vulgar term bugger, the phrase itself is considered mildly offensive rather than taboo, and is common in casual British and Australian speech.
