sod it

Brit's frustrated dismissal

Sod it is a British exclamation expressing frustration, resignation, or the decision to abandon caution.

It functions much like "to hell with it" or "screw it" in American English.

The phrase derives from sod as a mild British vulgarism (itself a shortening of sodomite).

Sod it, I'm having another drink.

I tried to fix it three times—sod it, I'll just buy a new one.
