bone dice
Carved gambling pieces
Bone dice are dice made from animal bone, one of the oldest materials used for these gaming implements.
The term sometimes appears in fantasy games and historical contexts to distinguish from modern plastic or resin dice: The merchant sold carved bone dice alongside other trinkets.
Bone gives dice a distinctive weight and yellowed appearance.
