bleak humor
Jokes from despair
Bleak humor finds comedy in hopelessness, despair, or grim circumstances.
Unlike dark humor, which plays with taboo subjects, bleak humor emphasizes the futility or meaninglessness of a situation: The whole movie is bleak humor—everyone dies and nothing matters.
It's the comedy of resignation rather than shock.
