biometric passports
Body-verified identity booklets
Biometric passports are travel documents that store the holder's identifying information on an embedded microchip—typically a digital photograph, fingerprints, and sometimes iris scans.
The chip allows automated verification at border control, matching the traveler's physical features against stored data.
Also called e-passports or electronic passports.
The new biometric passports speed up immigration lines.
