Landing solid blows
Biffing is hitting or striking, usually with the fist.
The word has a cartoonish, not-too-serious quality—more playground scuffle than real violence: The kids were biffing each other with pillows.
In British slang, biffing can also mean throwing something carelessly: She biffed the keys onto the table.
