Barrel curls are large, cylindrical curls created by wrapping sections of hair around a round styling tool—typically a curling iron or hot rollers.
The name comes from the barrel-shaped coils that result, looser and more voluminous than tight ringlets: She styled her hair in soft barrel curls for the wedding.
The term also describes the technique itself.
