backslidden
Returned to sin
Backslidden is the past participle of backslide, meaning to have lapsed in religious faith or moral practice after a period of improvement.
The term comes from evangelical Christianity, where it describes someone who was once devout but has fallen away: He had backslidden and stopped attending church entirely.
It applies more broadly to any regression after progress.
